Markus Egger Named Microsoft Regional Director
Houston, TX – February 5, 2015… This month, Microsoft named Markus Egger, Founder and President of EPS Software Corp., Microsoft Regional Director (RD).
Microsoft is undergoing a large corporate re-organization designed to better align all teams around a core strategy, known as One Microsoft. Following the re-organization, the Microsoft Regional Director program re-launched with a new nomination process and a return to a community-centered approach. Amidst the changes, Markus Egger has been re-nominated as the Gulf Coast Microsoft Regional Director.
The Microsoft Regional Director (RD) program is a community of independent developers, architects, trainers, and other professionals who form a vital link between Microsoft and the developer community. These technical experts provide insight and informed perspectives about Microsoft software development tools and technologies. Regional Directors are not Microsoft employees, nor are they monetarily-compensated by Microsoft. They are recognized by Microsoft for their technical expertise, and during their two year term as RDs, are expected to regularly engage with the software development community and Microsoft customers. This can take the form of speaking, training, writing, blogging, or podcasting.
Egger actively participates in local communities such as Houston Area .NET Users Group (HDNUG). He has sponsored special activities like local GiveCamps, CodeCamps, TechFest (at the University of Houston), and High Tech Conference (at Lone Star College). He frequently speaks at large industry events like TechEd and DevConnections. Egger owns and publishes CODE Magazine as a resource for software developers all over the world. “I am happy to say that I have been made a Regional Director, and I am quite excited about the upcoming opportunities!” said Egger.
